my step daughter is organising an engagement party soon & she has just told her father that she is seating him with her mother, his mother & sister & a couple of other adult nieces & nephews (he & her mum have been divorced for 20+ years & do not speak unless absolutely necessary)  ... and that i am being seated at a table with my 3 sons (not worried about sitting with them) but she is not putting anyone else at our table AND we are going to be in an 'annex' ( we all know a number of people that will also be at the party) ....
