WHY

angie.meadows71@gmail.com's picture

My soon to be stepdaughter, constantly is talking about the happenings with her mom to her dad. It is not any particular topic. She tells her dad when her mom is sick, etc. I do not understand why she is doing this. Any ideas? What can I do?

How old is the skid? If you're talking about a 5 year old, well then you probably just deal with it, because that's just normal for 5 year olds to talk about anything and everything. If you're talking about a 13 year old, then you and DH should nip it, by simply ignoring it.

SD: My mom was sick last week
Angie: Would you like strawberry jelly or grape on your PB & J

SD: My mom said that soy milk is bad for you
Angie: Oh it's so nice out, why don't you go play outside?

Yes! A few BM's have been found and sent posts from here so you need to change your username.

When my SD's were pretty young, mama was a more common topic because.. well, their world was pretty small. Now? I will actually ask them how BM is doing. lol.

It probably happens in the reverse at Mom's house. I guess she could be thankful that BM isn't pumping the kid full of probing questions...lol.

Echo is right. Be glad you aren't in the position where your step child prefers sharing with you instead of their bio parent.
