Few years back Fathers Day SD was going to bring grandkids over, I had dinner ready around 2:00, she called about 2:20 said were running late 3:00 rolls around she called were on our way. 4:00 I call her and she does not pick up her cell phone about 4:50 they roll up kids get out of the van they all come in, like nothing has happened, dinner was ruined. I made sure they did not just sit down at the table and start eating, kept Dinning room light out, pushed pack the plates.

Then I said what happened? husband said nothing!! She said sorry we were late we wanted to get a Photo for dad from the Kids Photo Shop, and I said really where is the photo? she said well "it just did not work out" no card for dad nothing....I said If you did not want to come why dident you just say so? and at that I went to my room. My husband and SD and son in law went on as if nothing happened. That is the treatment he accepted from them for years, so glad we do have to wait for the Royal Family any more.
