VERY IMPORTANT!! INFO ABOUT KIDS WITH ADD OR ADHD! ( STORY ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED TO MY SON)
HEY EVERYBODY, JUST THOUGHT ID SHARE WITH YOU ALL ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED TO MY SON THIS WEEKEND.
FROM THE BEGINNING, MY SON WAS DIAGNOSED WITH ADHD(ATTENTION DEFICIT HYPER DISORDER) THIS YEAR.
I FINALLY RESULTED TO TREATING HIM WITH STIMULANT CALLED FOCALIN XR TO HELP CURVE HIS IMPULSIVENESS AND HYPER ACTIVITY SO HE COULD GET A BETTER EDUCATION AND FOCUS IN SCHOOL.
HE HAS BEEN ON IT FOR 4 MONTHS NOW. THIS PAST FRIDAY MY SON HAD A SEIZURE IN SCHOOL AND HAD TO TO BE PUT IN PICU (PEDIATRIC INTENSIVE CARE) THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME MY SON HAS EVER HAD A SEIZURE.
WHEN ALL THE BRAIN SCANS AND MRI'S CAME BACK NORMAL, WE LEARNED THAT THE SEIZURE HAD COME FROM HIS MEDICATION HE HAD BEEN ON.
I JUST LEARNED THAT ALL STIMULANTS AND NON-STIMULANTS CAN CREATE SEIZURES AND SUDDEN DEATH AND IF YOUR CHILD FALLS IN THE PERCENTAGE OF THE CATEGORY, THAT THESE MEDICATIONS HAVE IT COULD HAPPEN TO THEM.
JUST A FAIR WARNING TO WATCH YOUR CHILD CLOSELY IF THEY ARE ON ANY TYPE OF STMULANTS FOR ADD OR ADHD. SO MANY PARENTS STRUGGLE WITH THERE KIDS WHO HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH THIS.
MY SON CANNOT AND WILL NOT BE ON ANY MEDICATION FOR ADHD, I AM GOING TO TRY EVERYTHING ELSE POSSIBLE TO MAKE SURE MY SON HAS A NORMAL LIFE IN SCHOOL AND AT HOME. SO I WILL BE TRYING OUT THE NATURAL REMEDIES FOR NOW TO ENSURE MY SONS SAFETY AND WELL BEING.
I WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED TO SEE IF IT WORKS. ANYONE WHOSE KID HAS ADD OR ADHD KNOW'S HOW A PARENT AND THE KID'S SUFFER, IT IS A SERIOUS DIAGNOSES. KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED. I DONT WANT THAT TO EVER HAPPEN AGAIN TO MY SON.
AND AGAIN PLEASE WATCH YOUR CHILDREN FOR ANY CHANGES IN THEM WHEN ON A MEDICATION FOR ADD OR ADHD, THE SIDE AFFECT OF THESE MEDICINES COULD HAVE COST MY SON HIS LIFE.

I hear you
All 3 of my kids have ADHD and so do I. The older two were medicated for several years but both stopped in the past year or so. They both said the meds made them feel weird. Ok fine, lets try something else. I went to the food co-op and got a natural remedy and started my 7 year old on it with some pretty good results. I have also read that allergies can cause ADHD type symptoms. I have all the info if you want me to email it to you. It includes changing of the diet, by eliminating certain foods for a certain period of time to see if the behaviors change or diminish. I tried some of it but it can be hard during the school year to totally control what your child eats when they are not at home.

Yah ive learned that people with adhd lack some Fatty acids and that fish oils and vitamins with the fatty acids will help curve some things for him, i am ready to attack this thing with full force so my son can live a healthy strong and normal life.
