Dear Valued Users,
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dawn and The StepTalk Team

Like most places, it has its ups and downs. You will find people with a ton of useful advice on here. You will find people who give good advice that kind of grates on you. You will find people that are just contrarians. Read everything and think on it. Take what you can use and leave the rest.
One of the best pieces of advice I was given on her offended me terribly at the time. I took a few days to think on it and then I realized that maybe the words weren't gently written but her message was spot on.

Welcome. This a safe place to hang out. You might get some good advice along the way. My relationships with SO and SGB-12 are different and better as a result of what I've learned here. Don't freak out if some poster hits the wine and posts silliness and another poster decides to lash out at everyone here because their own life stinks ... there are decades of cumulative experience to tap into and some very bright people who post here.
