Getting papers from SS's mother's house, help!
SS wants to get some of his original documents and photos from his mother's house. But after everything that happened, he does not want to go and get them. He asked my husband to go get them. Ok, how do we even go about asking for them? SS is terrified that his mother might do something crazy and destroy the documents. He only has photocopies of a few, like his birth certificate and medical records. He said they are in a box in the garage. He also wants some family photos, of himself, his aunt and his grandfather who he loved a lot. What are we supposed to do? Just call her up? Show up and ask for them? Calling her might give her time to detroy them. Any advice?

When was the last time he lived with her? I don't know about the cop escort. That might be like DH's ex getting a cop escort to come get stuff when she has been gone for several years. if he is an adult and hasn't been living there, they are going to let him take stuff that she won't give voluntarily.

My husband's ex-wife is so crazy a cop escort might be necessary. My husband does not want SS to do it. SS asked his father because he cannot deal with his mother. I think my husband should do it too. Poor SS. I still feel terrible when his mother pulled the fake dying act. Sickened me. I will check with our local Sheriff's office.
