sd7 eating..or lack of

whoa_nelly's picture

SD7 has gotten into this new routine of refusing to eat dinner whenever they are alone with me. I have done the sit at the table until you leave thing several times and tonight I have de :? cided I have had it. She has eaten a handful of salad, a half a noodle of chicken alfredo, and a nibble of bread. I decided I did not want to spend my t :? ime fighting with her and put everything on the counter, and told her she can't have anything else until she eats and walked away. She is currently pouting....does that make me the wicked step mom of the west?

I do that with my SD but she is only 2, at 7 she is just being a brat lol

Just take the food away and send her to bed. She can go to bed hungry (she wont starve missing one meal) and she'll be damn hungry in the morning. If she doesnt eat her breakfast then say oh you must be sick and send her to bed again. NO tv, no snacks, only water. See if that works Smile

Thanks! I will do that, I think that will be my new motto, as treating her like I would my own child isn't worth the headache and the time it takes out of my night. }:)

I'll do the reheat thing mostly because I HATE wasting an entire meals worth of food, and wasting food is something my skids have a HUGE problem with. SD5 will take one bite out of an apple (a perfectly good apple) and throw it away, or leave it till it gets soft and gross and then we have to throw it away. SS7 will refuse food we know he likes just because he would rather eat junk. So they get the same thing as many times as it takes or until it just can't be reheated anymore.

That's part of the problem, BM's idea of healthy is chicken nuggets or hamburger helper or mcdonalds every night. So the skids come to our house and SD refuses to eat or even try anything outside of the relm of junk food, then they sneek what junk food they can from our cupboards...which isn't much, and SD goes back and tells BM that we were mean and she was sick to her stomach all weekend. She is a good kid other than this, but wasting food and playing games gets old fast!!
