Not So O/T

For those of you under the 50 yr old set, you may have not heard of the original Twilight Zone series which inadvertently predicted today's child centric "parenting."  Season 3, Episode 8, "It's a Good Life" depicts life revolving around a kid who has special powers.   All the adults walk on egg shells as the kid routinely disperses cruelty and controls the entire town.

Not so Sci Fi!!

I remember that episode vividly and ironically I have made reference to it with SO.

Except his kids special powers are mouthing off.

Just yesterday I called him because I checked on YSDs room and almost vomited because it wreaks of spoiled milk. I have been gone 3 days and how she can stay in that room and stand the smell is beyond me.

SO reaction, he doesn't want to say anything to her because she will give him attitude about it.

My response, sorry you are scared of a 13 year old, but again that is a level of disgusting I can't even imagine living in.

I have had enough of these two and their nonsense. The next time it happens since YSD doesn't think it's my place to tell her what to do and SO is scared of his kids.

I am hiring a former coworker who specializes in behavior management to come in once a week and make her clean her room and work with SO on how to be a freaking parent. Because I am over it.
