How difficult is it to pack a suitcase?

I'm back at work today & therefore back online - been having a catch up read of a few blogs & hope that everyone is feeling OK.

OH & I took SS10 up to his grandparents for a few days before Xmas & OMG, BM cannot pack a suitcase for him to save his life! Considering most of the UK was covered in snow she did not send:

Hat, gloves or scarf
Shoes that fitted or didn't have holes in them
Enough pairs of socks for the time we were away
More than 1 jumper
Long sleeved pyjamas
Slippers or robe
His inhaler for his asthma

So, what are we meant to do? We're not going to have him either freezing or having to stay indoors all the time, so we went and bought him new trainers, hat & gloves, slippers, another jumper etc - easily spent £100 in a couple of hours on basics, and thankfully he didn't need his inhaler because we couldn't just go and buy one of them!

He then came out for my birthday meal with us on Saturday, saying his new hat & gloves set had been lost! I'm starting to understand why some of you keep clothes separately at your homes for skids, cos things are just disappearing into her house!

However, what wound me up even more was her trying to get in on our time with SS10, yet seemingly ignoring him when he was with her! We had planned with SS10 to take him to midnight mass - BM phones my OH to say 'SS10 wants me to come along with you guys to midnight mass' - um, SS10 never mentioned this to us, and no, it's our time to have him so back off! However, after she had SS10 with her OH kept getting phonecalls to come round and spend time with him (and the one time he went round she promptly went to bed!)

This woman is driving me mad, and the only thing keeping me vaguely sane at the moment is that 2010 is the year when OH will finally be divorced, they will agree a child support amount and we can finally plan for our future properly (I refuse to discuss marriage, buying a home together etc whilst he's still married to her!)
