My thoughts and prayers are with you.

SMJ - stay strong girl. I would be a puddle of goo on the hospital floor I think, if my husband were in the state yours is in. You are doing GREAT. You are keeping it together. You're almost there. He will and you will get through this. Keep your eye on the prize... Nookie when he heals.

Isolated - I am sorry to learn that your hubby is also going in for surgery. He'll be okay. He will be fine. I"m guessing he may be one of those pain in the butt patients because he is a doctor and knows how things should be!! Smile You will be his strength and his HUMOR in this. Keep yourself together and you will get through it soon.

If I missed anyone else who is facing this.... I'm sending lots of love and prayers and thoughts your way.

My good vibes to you guys too. You're two of my favorites on here, and I consider you friends. I put myself in your shoes and I can't imagine what you are going through. You are two of the strongest women I know.

OMG, this made me cry. Thanks Stick. Now DH is in the hospital bed asking me why I'm crying! LOL! I get a second here and there (while he's asleep) to check the site and try to keep some other thoughts going through my head. You guys have kept me sane in a situation that is anything but. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the support.

The good news, the Dr ordered another CT scan this morning. They were afraid they were missing something since his stomach is so very swelled. To those of you that don't know he was admitted last Wednesday with sever pancreitis. It's due to his gaulbladder acting up. Today he was scheduled for surgery but they cancelled it because the swelling in his stomach was worse and they can't operate in those conditions. They changed his antibotics and I know it's made a difference. He is still extremley swollen, but I think it's getting better. The CT scan was clear, it is "just" a severe case of pancreitis. I say "just" because I was actually beginning to worry it was something else.

So tomorrow, for the first time in his life (he's 48) he will be put to sleep and operated on. I'm terrified. He admitted to me a little bit ago that he is scared. I told him I am to. He moved over in the bed and told me to come lay with him. I did. It felt so good to have that man hold me.

He's going to be okay. Thank God he's sleeping right now because there go the tears again and I've only cried in front of him once since this started. I keep telling him it's going to be okay, we are going to be okay, etc. I don't want him to doubt for a second that everything is 100% fine. Yes it's surgery but he's going to be fine and dandy.

I hate seeing him this way. I miss my daughter and my son. My mom is keeping them and last night I stayed there. I'm going to again tonight because I know tomorrow night I'll need to be here. I'm going to go to mom's house, eat a good dinner (she's spoling me), take a long hot shower, play with my kids, and make them both sleep with me tonight.

Anyone who prays, please keep DH in yours. For people that don't, please just send some positive thoughts his way.

Stick, thank you so much for writing this. You gave me a chance to sit here and talk about everything that is on my mind. Thanks for being my sounding board!

Jennifer

I will definitely keep both you, your husband and your kids in my prayers. My mom went through the same thing and although surgery is scary for people who haven't had one, it's not nearly as scary as people think. I think your husband will absolutely be fine and he's so lucky to have such a loving wife. Doctors can do miracles now with surgery and advances in medicine have made surgery very safe. Anyway, I'll be praying and sending good thoughts and take care of yourself as much as possible!
