Weekend visit

Step mum of three's picture

So had my SS for an overnight visit on the weekend, my parents were staying as I'm on bed rest due to issues in my pregnancy and I can't help but feel so grateful for them to be there to entertain SS while DF was doing the yard work.

So the 'communications book' was actually used by BM!!! I was stunned!! She claims the doctor (my ob) said she is doing a wonderful job with SS and his eye is healing at a fast rate because of her!! I couldn't help but laugh!! We were also told that we HAD to put his ointment in his eye once at night and once again in the morning, but SS will fight us as he HATES it so just call BM if we couldn't handle it!! SS had his ointment at the appropriate times and didn't fight it once also asked if we could put the ointment in his eye before he went home 'because mummy makes him cry when she does it'. This made me giggle (not the fact he cries but the fact that BM isn't as awesome as she thinks she is).

She also in closed a letter from a chiropractor stating that he had been in for 'manual muscle testing' to test for food sensitivity (??????), I may sound stupid saying this but WTF is this?? We were told by BM that it's a test where they put a food in the persons mouth then test the muscle strength on a graded scale .... Is this a real thing?? I didn't think putting anything in your mouth would affect you (especially at a muscular level) immediately unless you were allergic to it. SS has had allergy tests which have all had a negative result. He does get an upset stomach after soy milk but he has never had this at our house so it's not such a concern (we have limited his other soy intakes but the minimal amounts he has doesn't seem to affect him), so I guess my question is does this letter hold any weight?? (it is from the only chiropractor in town and he hardly eats any of the items he is 'sensitive to')
