The powder keg finally blew

BM actually showed up for her visitation (she was late no shock there) DH and I pick the kids up from the visit (it was supervised by DHs "mom" long story there) and the kids were acting cagey which we expected. Saturday was alright, as was most of Sunday, until Sunday night. The kids were playing a game and arguing about every little thing. Finally DH told them "next argument game gets put away" well 15 minuets later there was an argument. DH said "put the game up, you were told" well skid 10 just SNAPPED (for those that have read previous blogs you know she has done this from time to time, usually it starts with the backtalk, then the flat out defiance, then the yelling and screaming) not this time. There was NO defusing this one. SD10 went straight to the yelling screaming crying and throwing things. DH tried talking to her and I finally told him "no let her alone and she will calm down" so DH pulls the youngest one out of the bedroom and shut the door, leaving SD 10 without an audience. After about 45 min SD finally calms down enough to talk. She had written a letter to BM that simply said " you lie to us and have already lost us. I hate you and am terrified of you." DH have to go back to court tomorrow afternoon, and we will be bringing this up to our atty, as she wanted to know how the kids acted after the visit. This is NOT good for these kids, granted, yes they can get to me sometimes but this attitude that the BM has that she's the "best parent" just pisses me off.

Wow. This is very sad. I'll give SD credit for writing a very succinct and to the point letter. Hopefully the judge will "get it" and rule in the benefit of the children. I'll be sending good juju tomorrow.

OMG. That's sad for her, but I'm glad that she wrote this so that hopefully ya'll can get the girl help and get her on track.

I think it's a good idea to ignore children who are having tantrums too, btw. Sending her to her room so she didn't have an audience was key, IMO.
