DYFS and restraining orders... need advice please

riddlemonster's picture

Need advice for my ex SO and former SS. Ss's BM had a live in bf until around September 2012, has a baby with him. When her parents kicked the bf out he came toher house, told her to get the baby ready and give her to him, or he was going to walk into the house, shoot her father and anyone who got in his way, including my former SS2. take the baby, shoot her and then himself. He had a loaded gun in his vehicle at the time he made his that. Bm called the police, got restraining order, DYFS got involved. She was told if she contacted him she could lose her children.
Recently former SO has received proof that Bm has been taking SS2 to visit with the ex bf. So my former SO is understandably concerned for his sons welfare. Thought of come here for advice and to find out if anyone can tell me if a ncp with joint legal custody can request copies of DYFS findings. Also, does anyone know how to find out if there is still an active RO on someone?

In my state it took 5 years to get transcripts from our cps. As far as a RO goes I would think you'd find out about those from the police dept. Or County Clerks office. Sounds like ex SO needs to do something fast.

"She was told if she contacted him she could lose her children."

I would think that he could try calling DYFS to report it. Rather than hem & haw about it, he should just do it.
