Just Frustrated..

I don't post much because honestly I am very lucky in the step department and I know I could have it much much worse.

I am just frustrated because we have my DH's kids over every other weekend, SD11 and SS15. I pick them up because DH is working..no big deal. But the last few weekends that I have gone to pick up the kids it was only SD11 because SS was sick or what not. Here is what bothers me. She has started to avoid me and even sat in the back seat of the car even though the front seat was free..It was weird I guess. I am not a huge talker but we have gotten along fairly well (since she was 7) until now. She would rather spend her weekends in the bedroom even when DH is home if it is something I am partaking in.

I know BM dislikes me for whatever reasons as I have not met her. She makes snide comments to SD for liking me and basically shows her that she does not approve. SD decided one weekend that she was not going to help with chores because BM had gotten mad the last time because "They will do chores for pink but not for me" I really thought that if this whole bit was going to happen it was going to be when she was younger..you know, when BM only referred to me as Bitch, whore, homewrecker..etc. (I did not split up their marriage)

My SS15 is gaining weight at record speeds. He is 15yrs old, 5'6 maybe 5'5 and he now weighs around 350lbs not sure because our scale only goes to 350lbs and it read Error every time but worked for DH. His knees bother him a lot. His ankles bend something awful when he walks and he has broken the frame on our new couch. This kid needs help and has needed help for such a long time! His mother rewards his good report cards with food. They stop at dunkin donuts EVERYDAY for breakfast. He is dying and no one cares. We see them 4 days a month so at least for those 4 days they get real food but it is a drop in the bucket really.

I have tried to teach him healthy meals to cook because he is the one who cooks dinner at home every night but obviously that has no effect. It is sad but these kids had no idea that food doesn't actually come from a can or a box. I made cabbage soup with lots of vegetables and herbs from my garden and it was like when man discovered fire..as I imagine. It was heartbreaking.

DH and I have decided to have a child. I can only imagine the shit storm that is going to brew with BM and just have to hope SD doesn't get sucked into the abyss.
