So DH and I had high hopes for this weekend being a good one - SS was dropped off early (5 minutes early but it's an improvement from 20 minutes late!!) and SD was on time, as normal. We sat around the table for a good dinner, and then started discussions about school and things (hear the missle getting racked in the gun). DH was having an active convo w/ SS8 about carrying his cell phone (that we bought him and pay for) in case of an emergency or so DH can get in touch with him. It's a reasonable family conversation and then we break to do whatever else needs to be done (like giving BD2 a bath). (Begin the missle flying through the air) I overhear DH and SD talking and it starts becoming a hickory stump lecture (I don't know what exactly was said but it had something to do with being racist). Finally I hear SD yell at DH "Fine, I don't care - leave me alone and don't talk to me!!" (BOOM!) A whole 2 hours into the visit and SD and DH are pissed at each other. Greeeeaaaatttt. I was waiting for his cell phone to ring with XW#1 wanting to know why SD wanted to be picked up already. That didn't happen, fortunately. They seemed to sort out their differences, or at least agree to disagree on their thoughts. I don't know - i'm hoping this weekend can be salvaged because I really don't want to deal with DH or SD being pissy.
