Dear Valued Users,
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dawn and The StepTalk Team

There is a place here in Az called Spy Headquarters. You can buy a recording device that plugs into a phone to record. It should work on home phone or cell phone. Do a google search on any such place in your area or maybe an internet site to order on line. Anyone can buy one but you may want to check your local laws on what is legal for recording conversations. Usually, as long as one party on the line (you) is aware of the taping, it's legal... although may not be admissable in court.
Awesome!
Thanks! Will do!
And as long as you say at
And as long as you say at some point "I'm recording this call" you can use it in court. They will probably think you are screwing with them and go off on their craziness anyway.
Inexpensive alternative
We use a regular voice recorder. My DH puts the psycho on speaker and lets her talk away. Initially we got the idea of using the recorder from a friend who is a police officer. He said as long as one party is aware (usually you) that the conversation is being recorded, then it is legal. We've even had her recorded rantings (swearing and all)openly played in court (She was PISSED) and the judge was fine with it. If you record conversations in person, then you HAVE to inform all parties. Just make sure you get it on tape that you are telling the BP the conversation is being recorded.
Radio Shack
They have a device that I got for $3 on clearance. I put one end into the cell and one into a digital recorder. In Indiana you don't have to tell that you are recording a conversation that you are taking part in...so she just hangs herself repeatedly!
