I feel like a leper.

So, getting ready for a weekend trip, where I will be meeting FDH's bosses and coworkers. Every year they do this big golfing/obsticle course weekend in Kansas. They pay for our gas up there and the hotels...pretty much everything is paid for by the company.

I was SOOOOOOOOOOOO excited!!!

Until I woke up with a fever blister the size of Montana on my face.

Yes, I know fever blisters are HSV-1 aka herpes simplex virus type 1. I feel hideous. I only get them like...maybe twice a year! But my stupid ass went out on the motorcycle with my friends last weekend and got hella sunburned, and thus this monster popping up on my face.\

I hate it. I'm tempted to cover it in gauze and say it's a chemical burn from some bad sunscreen.

Get some Abreva ASAP. The tube is small and it's kind of expensive for such a small amount but it works SO fast.

No as soon as you feel the tingle or burn of a fever blister start applying. It will zap that sucker fast

No harm in trying it I suppose. I've been using camphophenique on it so far.

Abreva used to be prescription only and is now over the counter and works so much better than anything else I've ever tried. I get them anytime I'm super stressed or have stomach troubles and I stand by that stuff

Hope it works fast for you and have a great trip regardless of a fever blister. People get them all the time, they should understand

500mg lysine three times a day until it goes away. Then 500 mg lysine once a day to prevent breakouts. This works!!!!

You're special for sure, 80-90% of the population has some type of the herpes virus. Hsv-1 being the most common.

I keep it covered at night or in public. Been telling people I had a bad reaction to the solarcane I used on my sunburn.

My husband gets them a couple times a year. As soon as it starts to appear, he puts lemon juice on it several times a day, and it's gone in three days.
