My favorite part of my skids is when they're with their mother and I don't have to deal with them?

LOL what nengoeeseus said. My house is nice and quiet and I am happy when the skids aren't there.

You know one of the reasons I posted this is because I see soooo much negativity on here...don’t you ever get tired of it? Do you think that yes this is a place to vent but it’s also a place to heal, learn, and grow?

Hmmm, favorite trait, favorite trait. Let's see. Hmmm. There's got to be something. Give me a minute.

SS19 is caring and thoughtful. He tutors inner city kids on his own time and loves it. He is athletic and a hard worker. Very self motivated!

SS15 athletic. Can walk onto any field and be good at whatever it is. He is also very quick witted.

That makes me laugh to myself about the SS15. That’s how my SD is. Do you ever get a tad jealous!? I’m over here wish I just try something and catch on that fast!!

Fave traits - hmmmmm....

For both SDs it would be when they act like DH doesn't exist. When they DO call, it's because they want MONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY!!!

PigPen - when he piddles around in the garage for hours on end. Oh, alright. The best is when he goes home!!

PrincASS - since he joined the Army, he's actually turned into a fairly nice young man. Shocker, I know. He's polite, PLEASANT, and no longer acts like he knows everything. Crikey, I think I kinda like him!! :jawdrop:

SD17 is very mild-mannered and lovely. I have never seen her raise her voice.

Blue Moon jealousy is a poor trait to have. I must admit I am so jealous of you right now. I sure wish I could say that, you lucky woman.

Her faithfulness.

Unfortunately, with a BPD mother, and codependent, covert narcissist paternal grandparents, she’s going to need a lot of therapy one day.

SD12 is super smart and funny. She's incredibly good at math and is super exited for her beginning engineering class. She's pretty easy to be around and likes helping out around the house.

SD14 is a very good writer. She'll write stories for hours and they are advanced for her age. I suspect she'll be writing books, getting rich, and avoiding doing much work throughout her life.

Well they aren't BM... So that's good... Fairly certain aren't going to grow up to be serial killers...

Kidding! Mostly. LOL
SD9 is shy, but if I try something she wants to. I got a new pistol, she wanted to shoot. I'm teaching her on the BB gun Smile She also loves cuddles and will watch movies with me while DH is busy with homework. Also when I drop her at school she always gives me a hug and makes the "I love you sign" at me clear until I'm no longer in sight. She's a pretty good kid.

SD5 is beyond outgoing. She doesn't judge anyone and loves everyone (also scares me half to death... She asked a stranger if she could go home with her the other day...) She's still learning, but for the most part just wants to be a "good girl."

They have bad days, and there's always the occasional "you're not even a real parent." Or "you're JUST a step-mom." But I did luck out with them. Helps off-set a lot of the bats*** psycho BM likes to throw around.

The oldest 2 are 18 and SD17 has been bribed by BM to live with her.

I'm saddened by SD bc she lived with us for 7 years and would go months and not speak to or visit BM. I still don't know what I did, but she started literally ignoring my texts to her last summer and really never told DSO or me that she was going to stay there full time.

Another thing I like: Since we are at almost a year, I'm going to start boxing up her stuff and storing it away. I can fix that room up for my granddaughter to stay in or my 86yo Mom when she can't live alone any longer.

Hmmmmmm....it’s.......well....you know.....it’s her way of.......hmmmmmmm.......

I am stumped. Got another question?

My favorite thing about SD is that she lives far, far away and I don't have to deal with her.

My Skid is awesome. He should be. I raised him as my own and as his mom says "he is just like you (me)". Dirol }:)

My mother cursed us to have a child just like me so ..... he comes by it via a curse by his grandmother.

He is 25 and truly a viable young adult of character. April will mark his seventh service anniversary in the USAF, he is working on completing his BS in computer science and is looking to apply to OTS..... maybe. He keeps flip-flopping on that. He should make E-6 later this year.

The best part for me is that he wears our family name on his uniform. He asked me to adopt him three years ago and we made that happen.
