the fat cow still does the little things

It has been almost 2 years since I have posted here. Not that I have not been here lurking, because knowing I am not the only idiot subjecting myself to this life is comforting. Wink

Still dealing with the little things that make this life rough, but less often since the courts allowed BM to haul SD9 to another country.

Thankfully, with age, SD9 tends to be more tolerable now than she was at 3/4 when I met her, and the horomones that will make things rough in a few years are not here yet, but BM still likes to throw us a curve ball now and then.

Like this week we have SD9 for the week, so we decided to visit my in-laws in Quebec, and SD's mother told her it was really important that she buy her some fresh maple syrup while here... so we had to explain to SD that we are not paying for her mothers specialty syrup, and we are not taking what limited time we have to go get it... and we get to be the bad guys!

So I am hoping DH grows a pair and tells BM to ask us directly for stuff and not use SD as a middle man, but unfortunately DH is notorious for not having any balls when it comes to dealing with BM. Fortunately I have grown a pair of my own over the years, and I am prepared to deal with it if he does not. }:)

She can go buy her own maple syrup. This is not 1950. You can buy maple syrup at Costco. Or does she expect you to go tap it directly from a tree so that it's "fresh".

ETA - Tommar actually has a better answer. Smile

Seriously! She lives in California now, and I am sure that if she drags her obese arse off of the couch for 2 seconds she can find some stinking syrup.. This is totally just one of her head games.

I hate when bms pull shit like that. Ours tries to do that whenever we take skid anywhere "oh you HAVE to eat/do/see(something skid won't like) because it's their specialty!" So skid whines and demands it, doesn't like it and we pay for something that's wasted. I finally put the stop to that. Told him "if your mother wants you to eat/do/see that she can take you there, I'm not paying for it because I know you won't like it"

Tommar has the winning idea with the syrup, though Wink
