Well sd opened mouth and inserted foot again. MIL sent her home today because sd insulted her. I can't believe how thoughtless and mean she can be to her own grandmother. She had MIL in tears. One thing we have in common is what she calls arts and crafts. I've been teaching her how to quilt and we both love to knit and crochet. I told her that later I would teach her needlework. Since we moved to TN I have helped (taught) her how to can and make jelly. My MIL is from NYC and I guess she never learned how to do any of this when she was growing up. To me it's as natural as breathing because when I was growing up if we didn't grow it and can it we didn't eat that winter. Any way MIL offered to show sd how to do some of this while she stayed with her. Sd went off on her saying it was stupid and retarded. If she wanted a sweater she would go buy one. She just wouldn't shut up and kept ragging on her until MIL called us crying and begging H to come get sd. When we got home I told H and sd if I ever heard her using words like that again I would wash her mouth out with soap. I can't stand slurs and insults like that. She tells me that I can't cause I'm old and smaller than her. I reminded her I raised 2 boys that were bigger than me and they don't dare talk like that in front of me. This time H backed me completely and let her know my house my rules.
