Today's the day...

We've got to go to court today for SD's fit back in May. I don't know why but I'm nervous. I know nothing is going to happen to me. SD12 was upset about it yesterday. She kept saying I've been good for the past four days. Yeah well four days don't make up for three months. DH talked with BM two days ago and she's pissed that I'm still going through with it. BM said we are doing it to punish her... umm ok... I think she's fishing for excuses and reasons not to come get the girls today. I won't be surprised if she doesn't show up.

DH got a letter in the mail two days ago. They are going to start taking CS out of his check starting this week and we have the kids! BM was supose to have stopped this a month ago. DH called and cursed her out and reminded her he would see her next week in court and that she better bring her check book. He told her that he WAS getting back what was overpaid AND CS. Once again BM seems to think we are punishing her so she can't see the kids. We've never told her she couldn't come and get them except for last week. I'm more than happy for her to get them. I need sometime to myself.

I think she wants us to bring the kids to her. Well that's not happening. For over 4 years we drove to her everytime we got to see the Skids. She can drive this time. DH said she could come get them and we would meet her halfway to pick them up or she could keep them tell next week when we'll be in North Carolina anyway. I'm not worring about that anymore anyway. That's between DH and her. I'm just pissed about the lose of more money to that fat lazy cow. That affects me too.

I'll post tonight about how it went in court.

I think you're doing the right thing. And it's far better to do it now than, say, five years from now. She's still young enough to turn her life around and with some kids it takes a lot of tough love to make it happen. And I hope you get the CS straightened out, too. That's why we need a national system for monitoring and enforcing both visitation and CS. The states obviously can't get it right.

I don't think the federal govt. would do any better a job, either. I would like to see CS and visitation standards and formulae put into federal law so that we have one cohesive law in this country instead of fifty different ones. There's too much red tape as it is to be effective across state lines. I love the idea of a privatized agency overseeing all CS and visitation orders in this country and one federal law that applies to all cases in this country and takes cost-of-living into consideration. Our current system is just archaic. I wonder how many NCP's live in a different state than their children. I bet it's a significant number.

Goodluck!

Remember to let go of expectations to the outcome. You did what was right, fair and just. That's what's important. You did not allow yourself to be manipulated, emotionally blackmailed out of the consequences for SD.

These things, above all else, are what are important.

Hugs!
