Bear with me- this is long

So Mic tried to wait until all of ss's buddies left from the sleepover to call yesterday. We were at his brother's house (I give his neice piano lessons), so he used their phone to call- seeing if Ms. Perfect would finally answer the phone. Well, she did. She told Mic that ss was already down at the shore for the day, and that she didn't know what time he would be home (like he's a teenager or something-a mother should know what time to expect an 8 year old on a schoolnight).

Background: We live in South Jersey, about 30 minutes away from Ocean City, Atlantic City, etc. It's not usual for someone to take a day a go down there. But it's March. It's cold, and the boardwalk and stuff doesn't open until at least the weekend before Memorial Day.

So I told him it sounded fishy to me. There was nothing that could be done about it, so he just waited until later to see if ss called back.

Fast forward to ss's bedtime. She picks up, all exasperated, saying that ss wasn't home, that she didn't know when he was going to be home, and that she didn't have to explain why this was the case on a school night.

So today Mic leaves early from work to go re-fill out this paperwork for the court date. He gets there, fills everything out and waits for 45 minutes. Then they tell him that their computers are down and that they're closing in a little while anyway, and that he'll have to come back another day. He tried to explain to the lady about how this date was supposed to be re-scheduled because bm didn't show up last time, and how they lost his last paperwork, the whole bit. The woman said, "That's not my problem, sir." So of course he told the lady that it must be so nice to have a job where anytime you mess up you can blame it on someone else, blah, blah, blah, how this whole situation is bs, etc. Next thing you know, I'm getting a call from him telling me about his escort out of the courthouse.

So then he went to the city where BM and ss live, to see about filing a complaint regarding the contempt of court. Miraculously, he ran into an officer that he knew back in school. He explained what had happened at the courthouse, and the whole rest of our situation. This wonderful, God-send of a police officer faxed all the info to the judges chambers! We should hear back from someone (either the clerk or the judge himself!) within the next few days! Oh, just when I thought things were as hopeless as they could be! Let me tell you- there's not enough pie in the world to repay this guy!

So anyway- Mic talks to ss today (first time they actually got to talkk since Thursday), only to find out that he was home all day yesterday. Another big, fat lie from big, fat Ms. P. I guess we should be thankful that she didn't make ss a part of it this time.

I will post as soon as we hear something from the court (hopefully good news...at least a court date that they won't lose...), as we may have stumbled onto the light at the end of the tunnel!

That's great. I will be keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes well.

Personally, I hate liars. I got a real problem with people that do that. Especially the one's that use the kids. It's stupid and selfish.

Best wishes. Jo
