When you sign up for an account, you agree to abide by the Terms of Use in order to remain as an active member of this board. Dawn and Admin developed those terms for a reason. The moderating policy, in general, is that you get ONE warning for violating the Terms of Use. Any other violation of the Terms results in removal from the board. Enforcement of the Terms are not personal. There is a generic message that is sent explaining the warning. Just because you get a warning, does not mean that you are on some "bad" list. As a general rule, we do not discuss warnings or removals of members with other members. There are so many posts on here that if you receive a warning, chances are that at least one other member thought what you posted violates the Terms of Use and flagged it for review. That is how the majority of violations become addressed. Surprisingly, the majority of flagged posts are not flagged by the person who was called a name, harassed, or bullied (the most frequent violations), but rather, from a member not directly engaged in the bad behavior. If you need a refresher, the TOU are in the upper right-hand of the screen. If you are removed, it isn't necessarily difficult to figure it out if you come back and remove you again.

In blog form, members have the ability to police their own blogs. You can remove any comment you want to on your own blog posts. This capability is not in the forum format.

This site is a publicly viewable site. Members are not restricted based on their beliefs about another's behavior in their private life. There have been suggestions over the years about making this site a private site so only members can read what is written. That does not fit into the vision they have for their site. Your privacy on this site is only guaranteed by how much of your information that you make available to others. You also open yourself up to varying opinions and responses that you may or may not like or agree with, but that is part of posting on this type of site. Please, keep this in mind when posting. That being said, if something you post here ends up on another site, DO NOT bring that here. Do not name other sites here. This will also result in removal from the board.

If you don't like something you read here, ignore it and move on if you can't have a conversation about it that doesn't violate the Terms of Use. If you feel like something violates the Terms, flag it. If you are having an ongoing issue with another poster, let us know and if we can help, we will. If you get a warning, realize it isn't a personal attack on you and move on. Personally, I've warned members that I do and do not like. I've removed members that I really liked and agreed with because they violated the Terms of Use. I've asked for guidance on removal of members I really didn't like to make sure it was fair. You don't have to like how this site is run. It isn't your site. Dawn and Admin work very hard to provide a site that is free to members, but not free to them. If it isn't your cup of tea, you are welcome to find a site that is or create your own.
