SD18 did bring the baby to visit this weekend. She nearly didn't - she called DH Friday night and said she might not be able to come. Her H "only had one day off" and she might have to stay home to be with him. Fortunately, they live with her H's grandmother, and Grandma is probably not an abusive psycho. (Unlike SD's MIL, who is exactly like her abusive asshole son.) Anyway, Grandma brought SD to our house while SD's H was asleep. Grandma then went to do some errands before coming back to pick up SD and bring her home. Although no one said it, it seems to me like this was all done behind SD's H's back, in the hopes he slept through the whole thing and never discovered she was gone. If he DID wake up, then she was "out doing errands with Grandma". *sigh* I HATE that she lives this way.

Anyway, SD seems OK physically. And I like the way she's talking - talking about graduating high school, getting her driver's license, and getting a car. We'll see. Sounds like it might be too much freedom, so I don't know that her H will allow it. On the other hand, Grandma is seriously pushing for it, so maybe they'll have some luck.

The baby is so sweet! She's almost 3 months, and SO LITTLE. She's still under 10 lbs - apparently the pediatrician isn't concerned yet, but the baby is TINY. I got to hold her for quite a while, and I got some smiles out of her. She looks like a little elf when she smiles, it's totally adorable.

SD says she's going to come back for dinner sometime. We'll see...
