Talking ... and whistling ... and noises!

UGH! Sometimes SD12 is just ... weird ... there's no other word to describe it ... she talks NON-STOP about anything that pops into her head! She has to ask questions like she's still a toddler! And if she isn't talking, she's whistling ... it's like she just learned how or something! And when she eats, she does this weird humming thing ... it's just weird!

If you didn't know she was 12 going into 7th grade, you'd think she was in about 3rd grade .... my friends have even questioned my telling them her age/grade ... sigh!

I don't know if I'm more annoyed by her antics or SD13 who is already known for hanging all over boys in school ... sigh.

lol. My sd does the humming while eating thing, too. Annoys the piss out of me, but it isn't a battle I choose to address. The kid can't stand to not hear her own voice.

Haha. My SD does the humming thing too, and any other noise she can make. Talking just to hear her own voice. Arguing just to hear herself argue. One day she was arguing (I mean all out fighting) with DH about how to speak Spanish. He was trying to teach her one simple concept. He is Puerto Rican with Spanish as his first freaking language and she hasn't learned anything beyond "Hola." Yet, she claims to everyone she meets that she knows Spanish! She tells everyone, "Ask me a question in Spanish." No matter what they ask, she replies, "Si." How stupid can a person be??

To be stupid and quiet is one thing, but to be stupid and constantly open your mouth to prove it...It's all quirky and weird to me. And SOOOOO annoying!

I mean, it's so frustrating to try and teach a person something when they refuse to make an attempt to learn. SD is so unteachable because she would much rather argue and talk talk talk about nothing!

Ah gawd, the nonstop talking and just making noise is maddening. I hear it all the time, the kid cannot shut up. I realize in a 9yo life there isn't much exciting that an adult wants to hear, but STFU already and go make some friends your age.

Frustr8d1's picture

Yeah, right?! My adult daughter even told me she feels 9yo is the most annoying age to her...I'm like, Yeah, and imagine if that 9yo isn't yours and is living in your house full time!

Some days there is NOTHING that skid does that doesn't drive me up the wall. And I hear you, my 17 yo tells me constantly how annoying SD is.

My OSD does that! Talking making noise all the time. Or as my mother would say "rattling like a clatterbone in a gooses ass"

Hahaha....I think they had a meeting and decided unanimously they would all do this. Looks like its not just one or two. Sd13 is currently having a conversation with the Xbox game, not just yelling at in frustration, but talking to the characters. She doesn't make much humming while eating, she's too busy smacking like a goat and mouth breathing!! It's my pet peeve so of course no matter how many times it's addressed, she refuses to correct the behavior. And for some reason no matter what this kid eats there are crumbs left behind....we could have soup and she would leave crumbs on the table. I think she is. Actually a gerbil!

lol. My SD9 chews like a freaking CAMEL! I mean, her entire jaw goes up and down and she sticks her tongue out full of food. I don't understand it. My own kids responded to me teaching them to eat politely. It's so aggravating, sometimes I get up and go eat alone in the other room. We've been trying to teach her for 3 YEARS and she just refuses to improve. I can't wait til she starts dating and does that in front of her date.

OMG! Yes, they are both smacking so loud when they eat ... I blame that to their cow BM! Wink

And the messes on the table, countertop ... you name it! After dinner tonight I told SO, "You can tell when the girls are here. There's dried milk on the table, spills not wiped up, etc. You & I don't eat at the table so you know it's not our mess." I don't think he picked up on my subtle hint of reminding his children it's not that difficult to grab a Clorox wipe or even a wet paper towel .... especially since they are 12 & 13!!!!!!

My SD11 does the same stuff!! Humming while she eats, asking questions like she's 2, whining or crying for no reason, talking or arguing constantly even if its just to herself. These kids must have a secret annoy the hell out of my step handbook!

My skids all eat like a horse---chomping with their mouth open. this pissed off their father who tells them to STOP eating with their mouth open..but then I find him doing it sometimes too. LOL

Also, they squeal and scream and make noises all the time. It is very annoying. I told them I would start making noises to bother them..but have not figured out that noise yet.. any suggestions?

And do their bio-parents even notice it all? Nope ... I think it's biologically tuned out somehow ...

Speaking of clutter, Sd13 left her shoes in the middle of the floor the other night. As I was picking up, I for the umpteenth time tripped over the shoes. I finally had it (how hard is it to take your dang shoes to your room??). I strategically put them in the middle of her doorway outside her door. Mi watched the next day as she stepped over them, tripped over them, etc. this happened all day. We go to leave for dinner and she asks me "do you know where my shoes are?". Really?!?

And they just woke up at 11am ... ate breakfast and now SD13 is on her THIRD pickle ... while CHOMPING it soooo loud!!! Maybe, if you're still hungry, you should make a sandwhich or something to fill you up rather than eating the entire jar of pickles in 2 flippin' days!!!! (And they BOTH just leave the jar with pickle juice sitting on the counter .... I asked once how difficult it is to pour the juice down the drain and throw the jar away. Their response, "Well at the apartment Daddy told us to leave it on the counter because we weren't old enough to do all that and he was worried we'd drop the jar." Um ... if you're old enough to take the jar out of the fridge, I think you can handle the trash part of it when you finish the pickles! I just said, "Well, at the apartment when he told you that, I think you were 8 & 9. You're 12 & 13 now and you CAN do it." SD12 still thinks SD13 or SO need to make her cereal or bagel in the morning. I don't get it .....)
