Caught My 6yr old stepson spying on me...help?!
My 6 year old stepson lives with us full time... he is a very sweet little boy and I've never really had any issues with him until now...today after my husband left for work, I decided to take a shower. Our main bathroom is set up kind of weird, so it has a door to the back porch with a plexi glass pet door. Well, I caught my step son spying on me through the pet door.... I was already completely naked by the time I realized it, and I was in complete shock! I imediately grabbed a towel and told him to go to his room...I didn't know what else to do!I told my husband about it right away, but I will have to wait for him to come home from work before he can do anything about it... I am so upset and confused...quite honestly, I feel violated! I wonder now if he has done this before and I just haven't realized it!
He has lived back and forth between his mother and father since birth, and last year he spent the whole year with her because she moved so far away that visitation was impossible...I would like to think that she is a good mom and I don't think she would expose him to anything that would encourage this type of behavior, but I don't know for sure...It's concerning! Has anyone else had similar issues? if so, what did you do. Also, should we seek counseling for this child? is this a normal behavior for a 6 year old boy?

I would not wait for his dad to come home. He did this to you. All you have to do is ask him why?

Nothing QUITE like that but I noticed most times when I would wear a tanktop, SS10 would look at my cleavage (he was 8y and 9y at the time). I never said anything to him but I don't wear tanktops anymore.
I wouldn't go into panic mode just yet but then again, this has never happened to me. If you have a gut feeling something deeper is going on inside this child, by all means, get help for him. If you think its just curiosity, get some good locks for your doors.

Thanks for your input... I do not think he was just playing. When I told him I was going to take a shower, he was playing inside the house... as soon as I went into the bathroom he went outside to spy on me through the little pet door...it just seemed a little to sneaky to be chalked up to playful behavior. I suppose it was just curiosity, but either way, it was definitely inappropriate. My husband told me not to get angry with him and that he would talk to him...I can't help but be a little angry though. I grew up in a home with all girls, so raising a boy is VERY new to me.
