how do you deal with grandparent gifts?
As if money isn't already an issue with things being equal, its another story with gifts from my MIL to my SS11. I know its her real grandson and all, but he lives with us full time as does my DD10 and DS8. She does very rarely buy something for my 2, but it doesn't compare to her gift to SS. My family when buying gifts accept my new family and does for one the same as the other. I have tried to let the issue go, but what do I say when every week SS has a new toy from MIL and my kids want to know why she won't buy them anything? My family doesn't have as much as my DHs and they especially can't do as much for my kids now since I have 3stepkids and they have to do for them too. my family refuses to do anything different because its the right thing to do. I was wondering how someone else has delt with this situation.

This is what I did I told my mom that IF she was going to buy my kids something and not my skids then she HAD to do when skids were not with us. However with you that might not be a good way to deal with it. I would start sending them back with a note saying that if you can't buy for all then don't for any. But that is just me.
DH's family is out of the
DH's family is out of the country. My family treats all the kids the same. My 4 and DH's 4. If anyone decides to do something for my kids and leave the others out, they do it quietly so no one gets their feelings hurt.
I told my parents that I
I told my parents that I really wanted them to treat SD like their grandchild. And they have, for nearly 20 years.
However, you cannot control what other people do. Quite frankly, it sounds like the other two kids are YOUR kids (and not DH's) from a previous relationship. If that's the case, they have two sets of grandparents already.
Just explain to your kids that MIL is SS's grandma just like soandso is their grandma. Life isn't fair. They might as well start learning it now.
My skids grandparents (my ils) bought them cars and took them on trips (like Hawaii, the east coast, etc) My kids were never included. My exils have no contact with my kids. So my kids have ONE set of grandparents who have anything to do with them.
THIS We can make everything
THIS
We can make everything fair for our kids. We sure as heck can't tell others how to spend their money.
