Well, my ss is 11 yrs old and isn't brushing his teeth, showering, changing clothes all the time, cleaning out his ears, or brushing his hair. This poor kid is a sweater, he sweats all the time (not his fault)but I can't stand him getting in the car with me and I just actually won't allow it anymore(if he hasn't cleaned up).
Believe it or not, this only happens at his BM house. She lost her sense of smell in a car accident as a kid, but even so. He actually has been so dirty he got jock-itch(at her house, of course) and she finally took him to the doctor about it. Then, lectured my husband about how he doesn't shower enough. A lot of times he showers twice a day here! But it's always a fight. I do feel sorry for him being so sweaty-he isn't overweight or anything, and we don't shame him or anything, but sooner or later he's going to lose friends over this. I can't even imagine what his teachers think. We have them on a weird schedule. We have them every other TH,FR,SAT.and every SUN,MON. So he showers on those days for sure. But the rest of the time......never, unless we have the 2 sk kids on extra days.No matter how much we talk about it with him, he doesn't seem to care. Help!
