Dear Valued Users,
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dawn and The StepTalk Team

Thanks for sharing! I really
Thanks for sharing! I really like the body style of the 2011. I was checking it out online tonight. I went and looked at some Kia's tonight and they couldn't get down to a price I can manage. Almost as soon as I got home, my phone was ringing. Apparently the guy that owns the kia place, also owns the hyundai place and he called the gm at hyundai and told him to "FIND ME A CAR".
He said he could get me the 2011 Elantra for LESS than my target price so I am definitely going to check it out. I don't know if what he's going to show me is going to be like the one I LOVE online, but I'm definitely willing to check it out!
I have never really heard much about hyundai so I've been trying to get other people's opinions everywhere I can.
My dad drives a Hyundai, I
My dad drives a Hyundai, I can't remember which model exactly but it's not an elantra. He has almost 200,000 miles on it and it's still running well. He says they have a great service dept. and I think his warrantly lasted til 100,000 miles. He's pretty happy with it.
I've had 2 of them and I
I've had 2 of them and I loved them both!! If I didn't have a family of 6 I'd probably still have one! Good luck!
Thanks for all of the
Thanks for all of the feedback.
Dealing with dealerships may completely change my mind about a new car. I drove nearly an hour to see the elantra and when I got there, they didn't even have one on the lot for me to look at. The guy said that he had 2 THE DAY BEFORE and he can get them all day long. I said, "YOU called ME and told me you had this car on the lot. I cannot believe you wasted my time!" He says, "Ma'am, I'm not going to argue with you." I said, "Nope you sure aren't and you just lost a sale!" I will never deal with THAT dealership again. Ugh. Needless to say, the car search is ongoing. LOL
