WOW just WOW I'm in awe right now!

Ss14 just called dh and said that at tonight's football game that a parent has to represent each child on the field and he wants dh to do it. I'm sorta in shock as ss14 doesn't have that much to do with dh and he seems to think he is better than dh. It's kinda complicated but in short ss14 thinks he can do no wrong and dh is a screw up and that dh is beneath him. SS14 also seems to think he is an adult and should be treated like one and better than my dh. (his father)

Dh and I are going to go maybe ss14 is trying to be better to his dad, we will see.

Wait I was just now thinking and it accrued to me that it might just be that since dh actually PARENTS him instead of treating him like a partner like the bm does that he might respect him more. B/c I was wondering why he didn't chose bm. Interesting thoughts?

That's great news! It could be that he's trying to be better, could also be that all of the other boys' dads were going to be there, and he didn't want to be the only one with a mom on the field. Either way, it's awesome that he called. Could be a good ice breaker and new beginning Smile

I agree w/Thatgirl. My first reaction is, there are just some things that are more "cool" to have Male representative rather than a female one. Still, whatever the reasoning, just let DH enjoy it.

Purpledaisies I think all teenagers think they are smarter than their parents - I know SS16 thinks he has it all together and that he is so much smarter than us - but what is funny is when a real life "adult" situation comes up or he has to deal with something that he doesn't understand then we are smart enough for him. Most kids think they have all the answers.

Funny I always thought my father was the smartest man on earth and he only finished 8th grade. I still think he is one of the smartest men I have known (DH is another one) my father can shake your hand talk to you for 2 minutes and turn around and describe what type of person you are and be spot on every time. So kids think they are so educated and so smart but when it comes down to common sense most have none.

I think it is great he called DH and asked - enjoy the moment it may be ulterior motives but who cares enjoy it for what it is Wink
