My Summer Vacation w/DH and Ssons
It was an endurance test. We rented a cabin on a lake for a week. Although I get along okay with my ssons this week really tested me. This is meant to be tongue and cheek.
Here’s what I learned:
1. When packing for the whole family it’s easy to forget your own stuff like a swimsuit and a hairbrush.
2. Let DH pick a fight with you every morning. He’ll feel better after and wonder why I’m so crabby the rest of the day.
3. Sandy beds and furniture make for uncomfortable sleeping and lounging. (SS13 and SS8 do not understand what clean feet are. They think feet encrusted with sand are okay to run through the house with)
4. Never canoe with a 13 year old. All SS13 was good for was for warning me 1 second before that we were going to hit a rock.
5. I’m bendy-er than I thought. When canoeing if SS13 wasn’t hitting a rock he was paddling us under low hanging branches. DH was even impressed with my bending ability.
6. Never mountain bike behind an 8 year old that likes to stop abruptly for no reason. Oh and when avoiding a collision with said 8 year old just go with it when the bike is tipping over, don’t fight it – way less bruising that way.
7. A 13 year old can loose a sock within 20 seconds of opening the package.
8. A 13 year old has the ability to plug the toilet at least ounce a day.
9. SS8 can whine from sun up to sun down about anything and everything.
10. Going back to work is relaxing.

Sorry to laugh at your misfortune, but that gave me a good laugh!
I often think that I need a vacation from my vacation.
Laugh away! I was laughing
Laugh away!
I was laughing as I typed it. I just wish the bruising would hurry-up and fade away.
