It's not an opinion you're asking for, is it?

Redredwine's picture

Your spouse says: "I'd like your opinion." (and it's about something with the skids, BM, their parenting)

What your spouse really means (at least mine): "Tell me that whatever I say is exactly right."

ARGHH!!!!!

Then don't ask for my !@(*&#(*&$@)(*&%)(*&#@$ opinion!

Where's the wine?

Oh, opinions are supposed to be asked for? I have been doing it wrong and just shouting them out all these years. My bad.

Hmmm....In my home, this conversation would go something along the lines like this:

DW: "Drac0, what do you think about (insert situation with SS)?"

Me: "You know exactly what I am going to say. So why are you asking me?"

Where's my beer?

I'm very much a beer snob, too. But that was way before skids, and I'd rather not taint my beer with the drama of stepparenthood.

*sigh* this, SO knows my answer. It's seldom in agreement with his about SS.

Danger, Will Robinson, Danger!!! :jawdrop:

That's what goes through my head the moment those words come out of DH's mouth.

For most of my life I have always prefaced my answers to "Can I have your opinion...." with a disclaimer that if you ask for my opinion, I'm going to give you my opinion and it's not my problem if you get pissed at me.
