Intent to relocate? Need help.

BM and DH are currently in a custody and support dispute. She filed a silly petition for mental health eval of DH which she immediately withdrew. Today we get a letter from court saying petition for mental health eval is officially withdrawn, then in a new paragraph this language.

Notice of intent to relocate: No party may make a change in the residence of any child which impacts the ability of the other party to exercise custodial rights without first complying with (insert applicable statute here).

DH thinks it is standard language. But we've never gotten anything like this on all previous communications from the court. I smell a rat and think BM filed her intent to relocate with the court and we will get official letter from her soon. Lawyer can't be reached. So what do you guys think?

Look up your state law per the statute reference and see what it states. It provided a # correct? if not than a title which can also be looked up. Google for your state's general assembly (or whatever your state calls yours). Your state Senators and House of Representatives. They should have a search ability for you to use to look up the state statute it's referring to.

She very well may have filed a request to relocate, but depending on your CO and the states' law it may not be near as easy as BM thinks it will be. She has to likely prove with evidence why such a relocation for the children would be in their best interest rather than staying where you are and well being the NCP or whatever.

Don't panic. If she filed you will be notified and your lawyer will help you build your case against such a move (or in the event it's granted help you negotiate the best terms on visitations, travel expenses blah blah.
