Just a boy thing?

As some of you may remember from my past posts, SS has been in trouble the last 4 wks at school for punching a kid and throwing a chair at a kid.

Last year, he had at least 5 incidents of hitting other students that I can remember. He even choked a girl in his class.

He is no longer allowed to touch, speak to or even look at our animals because he is always hitting and choking them.

This past weekend, SO tells me that SS found a frog in bucket that he has in the yard. I'm unclear if it was this weekend he found it or another. Anyway, he proceeds to tell me that he was asking SS about the frog and SS told him, "I killed that frog with a metal pole." He also said, "I thought it would make me feel good but it didn't"

Now, I'm not saying SS is going to grow up and be a serial killer or anything, but I did find the statement "I thought it would make me feel good but it didn't" very disturbing.

I can't help but wonder where this comes from. Neither BM nor SO spank the kid. He isn't growing up in a violent atmosphere.

SO says, He's just being a boy. I grew up with brothers and male cousins. I don't recall them hurting dogs and cats and killing frogs, but they all did hunt and kill animals.

Is it just a boy thing? :?

Nope, thats a psychopath thing and HIGHLY disturbing!

Catching frogs is a boy thing...killing an innocent creature in an attempt to "feel better"? That is seriously messed up and that kid needs some serious help!

He does show a few of these, he's only 9 so he's too young for others.

We have never found a punishment that will stop the behavior and he only seems to be upset when SO calls him out about his behavior. He will cry then, but I feel it's all for show. SO eats it up.

I don't think he was sad. I didn't know anything about it until after we took them back to BM's house. He certainly wasn't sad or anything this weekend.

I have spoken to SO about this many times. I'm done giving SO advice about SS. Because, you know, I hate his kid. I do think SS needs some professional help. I need to get a lock on my bedroom door.

He also referres (sp) to himself in the third person ALL the time. Has since I met him at 4yrs old. Seems very like a very narcissistic trait.

So like instead of saying "I want a frog" he'll say "Johnny wants a frog"??? and he's NINE?

Ok that added to his killing the frog reason, would make me sleep with one eye open at night. This kid is a creep and bound to escalate.

Exactly. Doing it since I met him. Every single time he does it, I correct him. It's really annoying to have someone talk like that all time.
