I may have mentioned it before, but our family doctor actually is a good friend of the family. This year, as a favor to all her friends (and to reduce the wait times in her waiting room) she told me to bring my kids to her clinic on Saturday to get their flu shots. This is good news for us because this week and next week is extraordinarily busy for us (which is why STalk may be seeing less of me in the next couple of weeks).

I tell DW this - and right away - her first question is, "but how do we get SS to get his flu shot? He's at his Dad's!"

Like *WHY* is this my problem!?!? Doc is doing us a favor here by opening her clinic for us specifically on a day she is normally home with her family. Doc has a life too you know, so she is doing us a favor.

So for the last couple of days DW has been hemming and hawing over this; how BS and BD are going to get their shots but SS won't...I just shrug my shoulders.

Then she says "Can you help me write an email to Donkeykong? I want to ask him to let SS stay with us over the weekend."

I swear, I had to turn away from DW so that she couldn't see me scowl. Like what am I supposed to do here? Last time we had to ask Donkeykong for a little extra custody time to get SS a vaccination shot, you would think we were trying to ask for a portion of the Gaza strip. And frankly, one of the reasons why I LOVE the weekends is because SS is not with us!

I just said I'll look over what she writes to Donkeykong. However, since this has been a crazy week, the days just flew by and DW forgot all about it. Last night she asked me again if I'll help her.

"Yeah, yeah..." I said, somehow knowing that DW will forget again.

And she did forget. After she put BS and BD to sleep she went on her phone to look through FB and I secluded myself in the basement to look at some geek books I just got. I thought DW would come down (or call me) to ask me again about this email. By 11pm she hadn't come down to see me like she normally does.

So, I go up to see her.

She's passed out cold.

Hallelujah! I don't have to help her write any emails to Donkeykong.

So looks like SS is not getting his flu shot. Or if he is, DW is going to have to take time off work to take him.

Hmmm...Now that I wrote this, I cannot help but feel slightly guilty. I probably shouldn't be, but I am.
