Anniversary ideas?

Sunday is mine and DH's 1 year anniversary Smile

We are going to dinner on our actual anniversary.

The following weekend, BS will be at his dad's so we are going to extend our anniversary into that weekend and do something special.

I just dont know what.

I am trying to think of some fun ideas. Something that we wouldnt normally do.

I was thinking about getting us a hotel room, just for a change of scenary. Maybe doing pedicures. (he is on his feet all day and this is something he would never do for himself, ever LOL). Indoor waterpark and hotel for the night. Haunted house.

I'm not all into the roses and wine and candles, etc. While DH would be happy to have sex all weekend (and there will be plenty of that) I want us to do something more then just that.

So any ideas? Anything fun? Different?

My SO & I just had a great time at a vineyard a couple weeks ago - are there any near you?
Haunted house & hotel sound fun too.

Well I am into wine and DH into beer. LOL. I guess I just meant nothing that is super romantic.

Depends on what you're in to. Right now there are a lot of beer festivals where we are for Octoberfest. What about attending a festival and getting a hotel nearby for the night?

Renting bikes/scooters/jeep/RV is fun.

There are places here that have the glamping - so it's like you're in the woods, but it is a fancy tent or tent/cabin or just a cabin.

Concert? Play? Dinner Theater?

Depending on where you live and your taste for adventure, how about jump in the car together and head out of town just to see where the road goes? We did this for our first anniversary and it was wonderful. We took little byroads we'd never been on before and rambled around finding out where they went. It was really fun!

It's basically symbolic of your marriage: that moment one year ago when you agreed to jump in together and take a journey not knowing where the road will take you.

For us, it was lovely. We also did other stuff that is more specific to us, but he didn't get off work until 6 pm on our actual anniversary and it seemed like the perfect way to celebrate in the time allotted to us that evening. Out of the house, out of the box, memorable. Sweet time together with nothing to do but be lovey-dovey and reflect on our first year together, including the ceremony that started it all.

I was thinking that. We went last year a few weeks before our wedding as a "pre celebration" and it was so nice. Well it rained one day, so we were stuck in the cabin watching movies and having sex. Which wasnt bad but I was OMG I cant have any more sex! Then I am so used to doing stuff at home, I didnt know how to relax Ha ha. But I did think about that. They have these canoe trips you can do in the dark, which I thought might be kind of cool. Cold but cool.
