::gasping::

11:00pm.

::gasp::

Supplemental.

::Wheeze::

Oh man…I am so done with this camping trip.

::gasp::

I just pulled a Herculean feat. I walked about a half-mile, in pitch blackness, with a flashlight in one hand and BD in the other. BD was a asleep with her head on my shoulder the whole time.

It was so easy to veer off the path but I remembered which way to go.

Contrary to my DW who proclaims that girl guides were better than eagle scouts. Her and SS, got lost in the woods trying to get back to the second campsite

I’m actually a little proud of myself…even though my head is pounding now from my sinuses.

I probably shouldn’t have made this trek, but there is a LOT more people that have come. It’s noisy, FIL’s trailer is completely surrounded. He doesn’t know how he is going to get out. I almost felt like telling him “That’s a you problem. That’s not a me problem. You bought a Death Star Destroyer trailer. You wanted to show it off. So you figure it out buddy.”

SS feels like me. He also has a head cold. He and BS passed out early in FIL’s trailer.

I actually gave DW’s nephews a time out today. We were all playing volleyball and they started getting rough and they started fighting with each other, so I yanked them both off the field. I said “You both are acting like animals and that is unacceptable!”.

They were throwing fists at each other

Won’t MIL be proud…

(pause)

It’s so quiet here…I am looking forward to getting a good night’s sleep and I am even looking more forward to going home. As far as camping experiences go, this ranks up there as one of the worst, if not THE worst experience I have every had. I can’t blame the site. This site is nice but it’s not a campsite. Like I said, it’s a crowded trailer park with lots of amenities nearby.

I left DW at the first campsite. She is busy making her “world famous” smores. She had a big long heart-to-heart talk with Eve(il). I don’t know if anything DW said sunk into the head of that mini-sociopath. Not that I care, because I don’t think I will spending more than a single hour or two with any of SIL’s kids in the future. They are just WAY too much to handle.

I think this is it for me for today.

Good night!

*New VR entry*

*Sound of radio playing in the background*

August 23rd. It’s about 1:30pm. We left the campsite about 2 hours ago.

Halle-fucking-lujah!

I had a miserable time last night. I had the fever of all fevers. Seriously, I thought I had malaria! DW gave me some Advil and forced me to drink some water insisting that I was dehydrated. She hasn’t been in the best of moods with me. I dunno, maybe she thinks I am faking this fever? Like I am putting on an act.

Why would I do that?

I was a little ticked off at SS. When he came into the trailer, which was about 1am, he just puts on a movie in the DVD player and cranked up the volume.

I got up and told him “Hey! It’s late. I am not feeling well. I have a long drive back home tomorrow. Turn it off!” So he turned it off and I went back to bed to deal with my fever.

I was shaking like a leaf. When I woke up in the morning I was drenched in my own sweat.

Well Doug runs his own business so he works/travels a lot. SIL was a SAHM for the longest time but she picked up a job recently now that all her kids are in school. So yeah, having their kids meant that SIL and Doug had more of a vacation than we did!

They literally just let them run wild. The amount of times those kids are just left to their own devices is unreal.

Hope you are feeling better by now. I know what you mean about a place not being a true "camp site."

My DH and I recently were planning on staying in a tent at a "campsite." When we got there, it was more of a shanty-town than a campsite! People were practically on TOP of each other, the sites were so small. They tried to put us right next to a dude who was sleeping with a TARP pitched over him. That is just WAYYY to close for comfort for me! I like a little privacy! Getting back to nature is MY point of camping. Not being sardined in with a bunch of strangers!

That's sorta what happened to us. "High density" camping....Although "Shanty Town" is probably a more accurate description.
