Creeper Skid

Does anyone else have a fulltime skid who is just plain creepy and difficult (IMPOSSIBLE) to be around?

DH had to go to work for 3 hours this evening. Before leaving, he told SD11 to clean her room, do homework, get ready for school, etc... So, when DH left, I let SD know and decided to take a 20 min walk with the plan of coming back to make pizza, make cookies, and watch a movie that SD would like.

BUT, when I returned, I obviously caught SD by surprise. She was in the kitchen with the lights off...it was pitch black in the house as we have very little outside lighting and it was getting dark outside. She was standing in the middle of the kitchen as if I wouldn't notice her LOL....I turned on the lights...again...house was completely dark except for Spongebob on full blast in the living room.

In 2 seconds, I know I need to just walk away and calm down. SD had 3 bags of Haribo candy (that I hid and had been saving) the counters were dirty, cupboards open, and mac and cheese remains sitting on the counter. I tried---I tried to treat her like a normal person by making light of it. I jokingly said, Oh that's nice! Guess I don't need to make dinner!

SD shoots back with attitude---What? The school didn't give me a snack all day. SD goes to room, slams doors, hides out all night.

30 min later, SD comes out and says, "Sorry. I'm PRETTY sure that won't happen again with the food." I'm like HUH?? "Pretty sure?" Wow. I feel so relieved now! And BTW, it wasn't about the food...it was about rummaging through my cupboards to find CANDY then stand in the kitchen in the dark like a Creeper when I walk in my house.

So much for a "fun-filled night with the kids." HAAAAA!!

Uggggh. My SS18 used to scrounge for food at that age. He would clean out the entire pantry within a few days of a grocery store trip. And then dump the dinner I cooked into the trash.

SS18'is STILL creepy and still scrounges for food instead of working enough hours to pay for his own.

My solution: leave the pantry bare of junk food. I made plastic containers for everybody's snacks and made the rule that nobody is to touch the food in anybody else's container. It worked.

So after I calmed down a little, I was right in front of SD making eye contact and asked SD, "Ok, so, will you want pizza for dinner?" SD said, "Wait, are you talking to me?"

UM....YES.

SD: "Oh, I'm not really sure if I will want pizza."

So I made pizza FOR ME since I hadn't eaten...and I sat down to try and enjoy MY dinner and a movie alone.

HOURS later...after 10pm...on a school night, SD pops out of her stink-Cave room and says, "Hey, can I have my pizza now?"

How to calm down.....I. Don't. Know.

Yeah I've got a fairly good one. One time I asked SD to go get dressed because we were heading out somewhere. 10 minutes go by and she's still in her room, so I go to check on her, open the door and she's sitting on the edge of her bed stark naked holding her teddy bear and sucking her thumb staring into space...she's 6 (wtf?). So I'm like "what are you doing?" And I can see her snap back into reality and she goes "I was waiting for somebody to help me find some clothes" and I said "you don't need help finding clothes, you've been dressing yourself for over a year" and she goes "oh...". That really crept me out.

Yeah she's pretty strange sometimes lol. I'm fairly lucky so far, I haven't had any major problems with her like a lot of other people on this site (and I stress the word YET)...but I will definitely admit she's strange.

Wow! That is creepy. Do you think it was an attention seeking tactic?

My SD6 always claims that she needs help getting dressed when I tell her to. I think it's a way to get attention though, because I have a baby who really does need help getting dressed and my SD often wants to do what the baby does. Maybe that's what your SD was doing?

Hmm I'm not too sure...I don't think so though because usually her attention issues are with daddy, not me. I don't think she gives a rat's behind how much attention I'm giving her lol. It was just one of those flukey weird things that made me shake my head haha

For the last 2 mornings, at Zero Dark Thirty, I've been hearing SD11 talking to herself in the kitchen. One morning she was carrying on a full argument with herself. The next morning she was talking to herself to the point I really thought someone else was in the house.

I try to tell DH. His response: Oh will you stop--why don't you go confront her?

Yes, DH is right BUT I would first need a knife Hahaha.

My anxiety is so far out the window I don't think my heart can take this.
