Had a momentary glimmer of hope last night

I came home from BS's practice about 8 last night. I left BD and SS with AHH since it was so nice out and BD wanted to play with her friends. I told them all that showers and PJ's needed to be on when I got home. They wake up at 5:30 so they have an early bedtime. Anyway, I sent BS upstairs right away to take a quick shower and as soon as he closed the bathroom door I hear "Who on earth stamped up the bathroom?!?!" I immediately look as BD6 and ask if it was her, she said no way mom- ink on paper only. So then after a bit of hounding SS8.5 admits to doing it. Blue ink all over the sink, walls, toilet, towels, everywhere!!!

I tell SS to go to bed and no TV tonight. He stands in his doorway and says to me "well, its already on and I don't have to listen to you, don't come in my room!" and slams his door. I walk over open that damn door, turn off his TV and told him to get his butt in bed. He says no. So I grab that stupid punks ear, walk his ass down the stair screaming all the way and told him to tell his father what he did, what he said and the whole thing. AHH actually did a good job :jawdrop: I couldn't believe it!! He told him that under no circumstances should he be disrespectful of me. That the punishment stands, that he is cleaning the whole mess up right now, etc. AHH did good.

Well, then after SS went to bed AHH was all pissy with me because he had to punish the poor misunderstood child. WHATEVER. And of course this morning was yet another disaster and I wound up leaving SS behind again. I do love my new parting words to the evil duo- "He's not my accident, you deal with that shit!"

That gave me a laugh! lol

I can't recall if you are disengaged or not...? So your husband was mad at you because HE had to discipline his kid. Nice. NOT!

Aren't you one of the ones that is supposed to leave soon because of all of this step crap? I think next time something like this happens, I would just go tell DH that his kid screwed up the bathroom and DH needs to get off his arse and go clean it now.

Just to keep the drama of skid out of your day. lol

Nope! I will let him know 1-2 weeks out if anything. I am not even sure at this point what I am going to do. I know most of you all think I should just leave an empty house for him, and I want to agree with that. I just feel guilty leaving anyone with that financial burden with no heads up.

I am very comforted by all of the stories from those who left and came out ok on the other side! Thank you for sharing!
