Dear Valued Users,
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dawn and The StepTalk Team

Ohio! Fun
I haven't spent much time in Ohio. FDH and I were originally gonna go to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame this weekend, but, we decided to wait until next year after the wedding as part of a Honeymoon
Wyndham was actually top of
Wyndham was actually top of our list for places to stay! Good to know
Yea, FDH was trying to arrange it so we could have a lot of different things to do while out there - which usually equates to about one or maybe two things to do a day - I tire out easily and bad days spring up out of nowhere :/
Sports I'm always down for, FDH, however, not so much haha. I was lucky to get him to go to a Pirates game this year - and it wound up being the dullest game of the season (when they played Detroit and it went into overtime before the Bucs scored a run), luckily we had lots of friends with us so we kept ourselves entertained
FDH is the same way! I've
FDH is the same way! I've tried working him up to pro sports. We started off going to roller derby bouts - which he still loves, so, that's something
- then high school football, then we hit the Army/Navy game at Rutgers a few years ago, and then the Bucs. He was mopey as crap at the Bucs game though :/ It's just like "ugh socialize and talk to people!"
So, yea, perhaps we should let them go talk about how dumb sports are and go watch sports together haha. I know FDH would appreciate being able to talk about how dumb sports are with someone haha. Knowing PGH, you know how diehard we are about our sports haha. He's not used to that. He's used to how it is in NJ, where you can mock someone for their team losing without risking bodily harm haha.
FDH can't drink either, he
FDH can't drink either, he lacks the proper enzymes to digest alcohol. But I'm glad he hasn't used that as an excuse lol, we'd have no social life at all! We go to the local bar for trivia every week and went out to karaoke for a friend's birthday the other night.
I personally cannot stand it when people do what your DH and his DS did, saying something that insults other people who might like something that they don't. There's no law that says everyone has to like sports, but, not everyone who does is stupid! SD does that crap all the time, if she doesn't like something, everyone who does is either a jerk, stupid, or psychotic *eye roll*. FDH also does it to an extent. There are plenty of things I like that he doesn't, but he targets most of the sports (hm he doesn't quite mock roller derby the same way lol) and awful reality shows I watch (Bridezillas, Bad Girls Club, crap like that). Anytime I'm watching any of them, he's gotta tell me how stupid the shows/games are, so I'm trying to get it through to him that he doesn't need to like everything I do, but, he doesn't have to behave like that about it either. Heck, last week he was trying to tell me that the playoff games between the Bucs and the Cardinals were fixed and that it's stupid to watch games that are predetermined *smh*
