Update on Laying it all out for DH and his Little Motorcycle Trip

step off already's picture

The topic comes up briefly yesterday and he says, "since you're not letting me go on the trip ..."

I just remind him that I'm not NOT letting him do anything and that he's a grown man who can make his own decisions regarding a trip. (as a refresher he wanted to take 3 unpaid days off of work, to go to a motorcycle rally with his friends that are 13 years younger than him and leave me home alone to watch OUR newborn, SS13 and my three children.)

This morning he tells me that he thought about it and he doesn't want to go anyway. He'd rather be home with me and the kids and he just gets excited sometimes when he talks to his friends. He said we should never vacation apart.

(I guess the thought of me doing a 5 day girls' trip with MY friends who are 13 years younger than me, unmarried, without kids, etc didn't sit well with him).

.... and he thinks it was all his idea, which is even better. Smile

I am so happy for you. I so glad your DH was open minded to look at all the facts. I wish my DH was like that. He always wants to be together but it is all about what he wants to do. When we do things I want, he goes along but is distant and sulks.
