Dear Valued Users,
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dawn and The StepTalk Team

Disengaged SM.
Skid now calls her Satan and Stepmonster.
I'm still peeved that Amy (not the skid) used the term Stepmonster to refer to the SM. Way to help us shake off the "evil" mantle.

She may have been being sarcastic. Because she has written about step family dynamics before favoring the skid POV, that I leaned towards believing she is a skid herself.
I have never agreed with her step advice.

Awwwww... she ignored you for a WHOLE WEEK!
That's BS, she should be going out of her way to make you like her!

Dear Amy,
Please give "Stepmonster" this URL: steptalk.org
Same ol' Pollyanna drivel. Kid with A.S.S. (adult spousal status) suddenly loses said "authority" when a real adult arrives interested in PARENTING and not PLACATING. DH develops immediate loyalty conflict while skids enjoys every bit of the fighting between DH and SM.
Bingo!
