Rags's Blog
O/T - Did my weigh in appt yesterday AM. Down 35Lbs in 3.5mos.
I should be under the 240#s by EOM Oct. I started at 277#s mid month June. The last time we did this medically supervised program (2017-2018) I started at 308 and got down to 240. This time, i am not getting off of the program. The hidden carbs in low carb prepared foods are killers for me. So, meat, fish, poultry, leafy green veg, zucc, broch, cauliflower, peppers and radishes will be it.
The goal is 200#s or less by my mid Feb 2023 59th birthday and 185#s and fit by my 60th in '24.
The fit part has not yet started.
A new niece or nephew on the way.
BIL2 told my DW that they are pregnant with "their" second child.
I truly hope this one is actually his. Another cheat baby from his wife would gut him. The cheat baby epiphany with the first one just about killed him.
smh
Everyone knows but everyone is all forgiving of her 6yr affair the whole time she and BIL2 dated and have been married up until our niece was about 3. That was when BIL2 caught her and figured out that his daughter isn't his.
Our niece just started Kindergarten.

Off Topic awesomeness. Imposter Syndrome in "my baby girl".
Our niece (my brother's eldest of 3) was in town for a conference. We saw her on Friday evening and she stayed with us Friday night.
28yo, beautiful (yes I am biased but I am not just saying that), successful, an amazing person, in a strong marriage (17mos and counting) to a true counterpart for her, and she has an incredible heart.
"My poor kid did not even have a Playstation when he was
was on a week of COVID quarantine."
Are you F'in kidding me?
My DW's HS BFF called today to talk about planning a Europe trip to visit her USAF son.
During that conversation she was all upset that the USAF did not bring her kid a Playstation while he was on COVID quarantine. Sure, he had just arrived at his Europe duty station. They brought him food, etc... But he was all crying over not having a Playstation and his mommy was all mad that her baby was left without video games.
My jaw hit the floor.
Really?
Mostly OT... but not entirely.
So, our son (SS-30) is now back in the US. This is the first time we have all lived on the same continent since mid year 2011. It is calming for his mom and I to have him a relatively short flight away where we can fit in some periodic long weekends together.

Some meme wisdom I saw today.
Unconditional love does not mean unconditional acceptance of bad behavior.

Happy birthday to my beautiful bride.
Happy birthday my sunshine.
47 looks indredible on you.
You cried in my arms on Sunday and expressed your gratitude for me cooking dinner and cleaning the kitchen all through this never ending COVID tax season #3. I only wish I had been doing it every evening for our entire marrige. You owe me no gratitude. It is I that owe you my eternal thanks for putting up with me. I know I have not always been the easiest person to live with, just ask my mom. Though you and mom do remind me of that when it is time to "let some wind out of my sails". As dad has coined the phrase.

A big week for me and my family
DW and I had our 28th anniversary last Saturday. We had a great weekend. We drove to Reno/Lake Tahoe for our anniversary. We stayed at the same resort we stayed at when we married. The wedding chapel we married in is now under a parking lot but we did take some pics at that location with views of the lake. We ate at a number of great restaurants and very much enjoyed our weekend away from the usual work interruptions of our weekends.

Happy anniversary to my bride and happy birthday to my son.
Yesterday was our 28th anniversary. We road tripped to Reno to celebrate where we married and stayed that weekend. The chapel at Lake Tahoe is now under a parking lot and the resort is under a new name. But we are having a great weekend trip. The constant is my incredible beautiful bride. Her smile and laugh are the sparkle in my soul.
In 5 days our son turns 30. I am proud to be his dad.
Life is good.
