With very little fan fair- the oldest turned 18 yesterday!

We had the family "party" on Sunday which consisted of cake, icecream and her unwrapping the luggage as her present, finding it already packed with all her crap. She started crap immediately, that it was rude, mean, degrading etc. Further proof that "I" kicked her out.

MIL told her to shut up, that DH and BIL both got luggage on their 18th birthday from MIL and FIL and at 18 you need to get the hell out of your parents house and get your own life. Took the wind right out of her sails.

Hm, imagine that. Not just step moms give luggage for an 18th bday present. Sadly, she did not open the luggage, so she will find the more than a month old nasty pad from under her bed whenever she decides to open them at BIL's house.

One down, three to go! And the next one turns 17 in 2 months!

LOL actually I am not sure the kid is smart enough to even think of that!

But... she is not allowed to use the internet at BIL's until she has a job. Same with the TV. She is perhaps starting to realize that the 'rules' in our house perhaps were not as bad as she thought.

Then again, BIL is intentionally ensuring she does not get too comfortable there, because if she gets comfortable she gets disrespectful. And if she gets disrespectful with him, she is out and knows it.

I am glad for you! I have one SD17 and a SS16 and I can hardly wait. Between my BS11 and baby due next month, the house won't be quiet but at least the step issues will be over. Also, BM can then become an insignificant memory.

Great gift idea for 18...I may use that for BS17 to wake him up a little that I no longer have to do anything for him. I do it because I want to....
