It's all over-and its a good thing

This is what the past month has been like in our home

1. SD final dance recital (1st time BM has seen her 18 year old dance-EVER)

2. SD Prom (BM refused to help or participate this year)

3. SD 18th Birthday (BM didn't text her until 10pm)

4. SD senior showcase (BM no show even though SD bought her ticket)

5. SD Graduation party x2 one with family and one with the neighborhood (3 other graduates on our street)-BM can throw her on party on her dime

6. SD Graduation ceremony yesterday- DH and I had a bet that BM would be a no show and I lost. BM did show up alone with her new hooker red hair and her favorite black sweat pants on. She did manage to take SD out for a late lunch after graduation just the two of them which was nice for SD. BM really doesn't like DH and me just by the nasty looks she was shooting us while we were taking pictures and giving hugs. We knew that SD wanted to go out with BM directly after graduation and we respected that. I know that it sounds horrible but I am so happy that I bought a new dress (and spanx), had a bouquet of flowers for SD, and just looked wicked cute.

Even SD is getting sick of celebrating stuff and I am ready for life to go back to normal. SD leaves for the beach for a week and then is spending the summer with my brother in law out of state.

Even better we won't have to ever deal with BM again.

Congratulations to you!!! I'm starting to think stepparents should also get parties when the skids either age out or graduate. I hope you are right and BM just disappears from your lives all together now.
