He's learning I'm not stupid

Oldest SS (the one who wouldn't pay his partial phone bill) has been coming around wanting us to put a $2000 laptop on our credit card and he will make payments. yeah right he wants us to buy him one. He didn't even pay his cell bill on time and we only charged him a portion. Well he got mad at me when I told him he needs to sell his car because obviously its costing him too much he can't afford his other wants. He did end up buying his own laptop at Best Buy for $700 and is sulking about it because he "gasp* had to pay for it himself. Oh the horrors LOL I did post this to his FB wall when he was pissed we wouldn't extend him credit (buy him the laptop he wanted and he pretend to pay it back.)BREAKING NEWS: The Pity Train has just derailed at the intersection of Suck It Up & Move On, and crashed into We All Have Problems, before coming to a complete stop at Get the Heck Over It. Any complaints about how we operate, can be forwarded to 1-800-waa-aaah with Dr. Sniffle Reporting LIVE from Quitchur Bitchin'. If you like this, repost it. If you don't...suck it up princess! Life doesn't revolve around you! Smile My husband laughed so hard and agreed with me and that is why SS went and bought his own laptop after asking and being told NO for 6 months. Gosh he must think I'm stupid or he has way too inflated of an ego.

That IS funny but I wouldn't ever post it on fb for the whole world to see. I hardly post anything on my SSs fb.....too public.....but it worked in your case, congrats Smile

The only reason I got away with it is because we send jokes back and forth over FB all the time, when oldest SS isn't hitting us up to buy him something so he has drinking money or going out money, he's actually a likeable and funny person. No one outside my husband and I and SS knew what it meant so it was all good. I'd never point blank call him out in public.

SS needed to be told in a way that was humorous to an extent that he can't keep expecting us to provide his WANTS, he's 25 and makes more money than I do now that I lost my job and had to take a lower paying one. We would help him out if he NEEDED it but he's too old to expect us to buy him luxury items. If you notice when he bought the laptop himself he paid over half less than he expected us to shell out. And he's been over for pizza and stuff since so all is good.
