Sort of O/T Spinoff from Livizzle's Post on Craptacular Jobs

Ok anyone want to share some of the crappy jobs they've held throughout their career? I never finished college, got married at just turned 18 and always had to support my family by any means necessary so here are a few "lowlights"

1. Hospital Laundry Industry. Worked in a large sweatshop industrial laundry for hospitals with no a/c in the summer and was pregnant for my first child at the time. Oh and at the time hubby #1 took off so I had to ride my bicycle five miles one way to get to work (hubby sold car).

One of my jobs was to clean the filter on the industrial dryer which was about two stories high. My shoes literally melted from the heat and I was advised not to wear sneakers b/c of it. Oh and there was plenty of sexual harrassment, but hey, it was 1980 and you just had to "grin and bear it" if you wanted to keep your job.

2. Temp job sorting commemorative coins. I don't remember much other than it was totally boring

3. Worked all night for a Geological Engineering Corp as a temp. They couldn't make up their minds how they wanted their feasibility study formatted and would argue between the two owners. . .none of whom spoke English.

4. Worked for two nursing homes; got boiling hot water spilled all over me by one of the nurses aids. That and watching used suppositories and their subsequent bowel movements fly through the air as you whisked the sheets into the giant washing machine

These jobs listed above were actually less desirable than the fast food restaurants I used to work for.

Any one else have a crap (in some cases LITERALLY) job?

I worked in a rest home/assisted living place for 5 weeks. I was the night nurse. I didn't realise this included cleaning all the showers and scrubbing floors. But after I left the owners daughter took my job. The girl had male visitors coming in at night, several a night. One of the residents told her family and they lost about 30 residents out fo 37 inside a week. Sucks to be them!

The worst job I EVER heard of was the 'mop boy' who mopped down the floor under the seats in a theater that ran xxx movies. Ewww!

In highschool i worked at a very stuffy upscale clothing store in the mall after I left home. I was living with friends and after school would go to work. Behind her back the other employees called our manager the ice-b*tch. She would tell me to do one thing and then twenty minutes later would yell at me for not being someplace else and that would just cycle through until the end of my shift. I was required to ask customers ONLY questions that could not be answered by a yes or no, and if I did the manager would put me in the back to fold and refold every article of clothing in the store. That one sucked.

After highschool I worked in a warehouse driving a pallet jack. I got paid more that I ever had before but my shift started at 5 in the morning and ended at 3 in the afternoon. We were given two fifteen minute breaks and if we were late clocking back in during the first three months of working there we would be fired on the spot. If we had to miss work during the first three months we would be fired on the spot. That one wasnt terrible except for the exaustion.

After that I worked at a deli where everyone who worked there was a stoner. All the employees were required to taste everything that they made and no matter how many times i told my manager that I was a vegetarian and not comfortable with eating meat, I was required to eat it anyway. I was trained by a 16 year old kid who spent my entire training period flirting with me and making fun of me. When i asked the manager if someone else could train me he said it was that or i could quit. They got a new general manager about six months into my being there who fired me for having tattoos. I had had the tattoos for the entire time i worked there. I was actually happy to be rid of them, that was the worst one.
