To Do or Not to Do

JustAgirl42's picture

Do you pay your kids/skids to do regular chores like cleaning their own bedrooms/bathrooms, or only ones that contribute to the household such as vacuuming, emptying the dishwasher, taking out trash, etc.? Should they even be given money for things that contribute to the household? Or would you only give them money for 'special' chores that need to be done once in a while.

HUMP DAY!

A little mid-week reflection, if anyone wants to play: list one good thing and one bad thing that has happened for you so far this week.

Good - I got tipsy yesterday evening and fast-walked 2 miles around the neighborhood...fun!

Bad - Don't feel so great today.

You?

Disney Dad much?

SO is all ready to go to church.

SD11: "But daaaad, I don't want to go to church!"

SO: "And I don't want to spend $70 on another pair of sneakers."

SD11: "But daaaad, I don't like your church!"

Guess where they're off to??

I didn't say a word.

SD currently has about six pair of sneakers, but they don't match the outfit that she currently has on.

SO said recently that she will have to spend her own money if she wants more sneakers that she doesn't really need. Yeah, that won't happen.

O/T - and weird

I just have to get this out of my head and I don't feel like talking with anyone IRL about it.

I had a nightmare last night that woke me up with my heart racing and beating really hard. In it, I was in a group of people and a pitbull kept coming at me and latching onto my arm. It never really bit down but I was constantly trying to get away and the owner wouldn't do anything to stop him.

THIS is an example...

of how f@#ked up the BM is:

She called the house this morning to ask where her daughter was. It's TWO MINUTES past exchange time!! Why is this soooo messed up?? Probably because EVERY SINGLE TIME she is late for HER drop-off...and not just a few minutes late, at least 15 mins. late...usually more like a half an hour!

This is just ONE example of MANY. Get a life woman!!!!

Vent over.

O/T- Surprise for FDH

JustAgirl42's picture

Hi ladies,

I just need some opinions:

My FDH's 50th birthday is coming up and I know he would enjoy a surprise party.

How much help, if any, is reasonable to expect from his family (mom and brother) ?

I told them my tentative idea, and they gave me their thoughts on it, but they haven't offered any help with expenses or decorating etc.

What do you think, is it all on me?

I'm getting a little stressed because it's coming up soon and I need to start contacting his friends to make sure they are available.

Thanks!!
