Summer Visitation- what would you do?

Hi All
I know many of you may think I am crazy for saying this but here goes:
CO states BM has skids every other wkend, even over the summer.
last year for the 1st time she asked for more time so we agreed.
it ended up being about 1/2 weeks, but it left no free time for the skids here at home w/ friends,etc because BM did not want to drive them to their things here they had to cram it all into the time they were here and have less friend time.

I feel like this will never work

My DH and I got in an argument last night. I was checking SD's cell phone (part of her agreement to having one due to past issues) and there was a text from BM about how much fun she had over the weekend(visitation). I told my DH that I was jealous and I wished it could be like that for us and he started going off on me, saying what am I supposed to do about it. I am tired of being hurt by him and the skids.

Anyone elses skids live with them full time, with BM visitation only?

I just discovered this site today and don't have a lot of time to write right now, but would love to talk to any other Step parents that are really the parents.
Skids were 1 and 3 when I met DH and I have been "mom"/ primary caregiver since. They visit BM every other Sat. to Sun. with no weekday visitation/ help, etc.
