He Didn't Eat My Homework, but He Did Help Himself to My Underwear

TheOtherMom's picture

Today I had to take the dog to the vet - its my punishment for not picking up my clothes off the floor (a recent development).
I have been living like a lazy bum and I left my clothes in the bathroom ... my Lab took my undies and ingested them. I only know this because I saw half of them in his stool this morning. Needless to say, he was constipated as he couldn't pass the rest of them ... I don't have large undies!
At any rate, 2 enemas, x rays and $200 later, he is fine.
What does this have to do with Steptalk?
I feel slightly guilty when I spend money on my dog instead of the skids. Even if they aren't here at the moment.

Tell me about it. But if eating underwear means losing 5 pounds like he might have, then I'm on board!

They will eat G-strings too! Lets face it, you ladies smell good!

Not that I go around sniffing lady's underwear. :O

Best regards.

..though even if it were treats & toys, sometimes dogs are more deserving than skids! Smile

Mine too - I don't bat an eye at dropping $45 bucks each for grooming my furbabies, and when we have to board them when we go out of town, my babies stay in the doggie condo at the kennels. They also get special treats and when we grill out, they get grilled people food too. DH spoils them rotten when I'm not home -he shares snacks & plays with them. When I die, I wanna come back as my dog.... Wink

No dogs in our house. Though we do have a parrot who rules the flock. He is a character who calls everyone by name when he wants flock time and is always interested in what everyone is going.

"Whatcha Doin???"

He also is way in to music and laughing and dances profusely when the stereo is on.

Dogs would have a good home if I was not alergic to them.

Best regards.

He is not a puppy ... that's the worst part. He is 8 years old.
But as I lay on the bed snuggled next to him, I realize it was worth it Smile How would I explain that to the kids?
